APIs

You can now have access to SimilarGroup’s APIs to build and improve your website or app.

SimilarSites uses proprietary data from our unique Similarity
Engines which analyze all aspects of every website, ensuring we deliver the most accurate results.

There are two main APIs which are currently available to purchase from us:

1. WebSites Categorization API

Gives the relevant Category for any website, by using the same SimilarSites.com categorization technology.

The API returns for the requested website two categories suggestions with a relevance score for each, in XML format.

* Please note that this API works on a website level, and not for inner website pages.

Example XML request:
http://categories-test-similargroup.apigee.com/cat?s=719&md=16&q=youtube.com

* Please note that this example supports only 25 requests per hour

Guidelines: the parameter "q" is the requested website URL, the other parameters should not be changed.

Explanation for the output:
<status> =0 No Categories
<status> =1 Succeed

2. Similar Sites API

This API gives you a chance to use the technology behind SimilarSites.com. The API delivers up to 20
similar websites in relation to a given URL ordered by relevance in XML format.

NOTE: this API is only on a website level.

Example XML request (note that this example link only supports 5 requests per hour) :

http://api-similargroup.apigee.com/related?s=702&md=18&q=http://www.youtube.com/
The parameter "q" is the requested website URL, the other parameters should not be changed.

Explanation for the output:
<status> =0 Call succeeded
<status> =1 Call didn't succeed
<url> = Website URL
<navigateurl> = Link to navigate to the website
<description> = site description
<title> = Website title
<icon> = Website favicon
<image> = Website Thumbnail
*Results are ordered by relevancy
